Tour of my Torching Studio
My studio is a converted 12 x 8 barn shed. My wonderful husband Rick (an electrician) ran power out to it and installed the A/C and vent system.

Below I've shown a couple different angles.

My oxy concentrator (Mystic Medical in Michigan - info in my links page) is back in the corner over by my JenKen Chili Pepper Kiln.

I just updated this picture and the glass and table it was on is no longer there.

Instead I have a second matching metal table and now have a place to have the laptop and radio handy.

The glass is now behind me in the white metal cabinet. I just have to turn on the chair and it is in arms reach.

The vent system Rick built for me. It was patterned after the one my friend Cinda uses (see Lost Lake Designs Studio Pictures).
My Bobcat torch from GTT (Glass Torch Technologies), mounted on a Creation Station. In the background on the right is a Frit Tray that my friend Cinda (Lost Lake Designs) husband Ray made for me. Works great! On the left upper corner is a electric griddle that I found at a yard sale for $1. Keeps my glass nice and toasty so I don't get as much cold glass shocking! I have a mirror in the back so I can see my work from another angle. My hoses for my Bobcat torch are velcroed to the shelf below.

Vent Pipe with 500 cfm exhaust fan. The light switch behind the cord in the bottom left of the picture is to turn it off and on.

Rick set me up my own breaker box with plenty of amps to add any future equipment I might need. He also ran all the wiring through metal pipes for safety. I have enough outlets to satisfy any plug needs. :o

Chili Pepper Kiln. All of my equipment is on stainless steel shelves or tables for safety.

One thing every shop should have. I'm also getting a carbon monoxide alarm.

AC is built in. Next spring we will most likely add a skylight to the side opposite my bench. Natural light would be great. During the winter I'll have stuff in front of the AC. More space!!!!!

I bought this old metal cabinet at a used furniture stores going out of business sale for $10! Works great. It also houses my books, enamels and anything I don't want out for kids to touch (plating chemicals, etc)

My favorite frit containers. They can be opened with one hand and poured into my frit tray while still keeping my bead warm in the flame. I know I should plan better but sometimes you change your mind mid stream..... Anyway this are on lazy Susan bases and wonderful. Sam's Club for only $25 each. Gave away the spices that came with them. Who has time to cook when there are beads to be made. <vbg>

Extra work area!
